Welcome! Bienvenue! Willkommen! Benvenuto! Foon--yen!
It is so nice to connect with you today! Please feel free to explore my site and witness my advocacy and promotion of the arts, libraries, and continuing education.
I'm a librarian with a strong background in the arts. I hold an ALA-accredited Master's in Library Science, a second Master's in Art History, have eight years of experience managing hospital medical and patient libraries, an assignment as Reference & Instruction Librarian in The Frederick and Kazuko Harris Fine Arts Library at Ohio University and am searching for that perfect job! In recent years, I’ve held various positions at West Virginia University at Parkersburg, and working there was almost heaven. The scope of my expertise includes all circulation activities, cataloging, collection development, management, stack maintenance, and course reserves. Additional relevant experience in delivering instruction to undergraduate classes incorporating ACRL literacy standards, producing multimedia database tutorials, marketing library services via social media, conducting reference interviews, coordinating exhibits, inventorying collections, cataloging digital images for the Yao Artifacts Collection, collecting library items in the arts, exploring book traces, and designing and supplying makerspaces are established areas of expertise. For professional development, I volunteered as the Public Relations Chair for the West Virginia Library Association, and served as the Social Media Manager/Editor for the ACRL Arts/Section.
If you are in need of a librarian with this skill set, please contact me!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my web site!
Sincerely,
Sandra J. Gekosky
